October 7, 2026 by Greg Quigley

Let’s talk about a family-owned, historic gem of a wedding venue – The Bucyrus Club. This expansive, gorgeous & thoughtfully updated venue is located just 15 minutes from Downtown Milwaukee in South Milwaukee’s historic main street district.

The Bucyrus Club has two large ballrooms each with a unique style, a separate bar area and even a super cool & interesting Bucyrus Museum available for wedding cocktail hour.

Along with The Bucyrus Club‘s unique architecture, you can expect fantastic customer service & delicious food from Skyline Catering — the longstanding & locally loved family business, and the same folks behind The Bucyrus Club.

All About The Bucyrus Club

The buildings that house The Bucyrus Club were built in 1893 as a factory for manufacturing giant Bucyrus — fun fact, their equipment was used to dredge the Panama Canal in the early 1900s! The facility & buildings have since been restored and Skyline Catering operates the space for their event venue, catering & restaurant.

The Bucyrus Club has two large ballrooms, an outdoor patio, separate bar area and a 200 space parking lot. There’s plenty of space for you and your guests to have a great time at your wedding!

The Bucyrus Club – Event Spaces:

  • 1893 Ballroom & Patio – History and Cream City Brick is all around you in this space. With capacity for 100 seated & 200 for ceremony, along with an attached outdoor patio, the space works well for ceremonies, rehearsal dinners and receptions.
  • Grand Ballroom – With capacity for 250 max seated, this is your space if you’re having a larger wedding. Look at having your ceremony in the 1893 Ballroom and your dinner in here.
  • Founder’s Room – The social spot with a large bar and plenty of tables – the drinks will be flowing in here! Capacity for 50 seated or 80 standing.
  • Bucyrus Museum – This spot works great for cocktail hour with appetizers. A very unique space to mix and mingle with your guests, with a capacity for 150 standing.

Catering and Drinks

The Bucyrus Club’s exclusive cater is the always delicious Skyline Catering. Skyline is owned by the same family that runs The Bucyrus Club and is an industry veteran, catering delicious meals since 1997!

Skyline has a large menu to choose from, but always loves the challenge of customizations, so feel free to ask!

Expect nothing less from the drinks, which are also provided by The Bucyrus Club’s bartending staff. Local spirts and beers are available, as are custom cocktails. One thing we love is that they pride themselves on efficient bartending services, so you or your guests won’t be waiting around for drinks. Check out their beverage menus here.

We also love their bar area, The Founder’s Room, and are told that this is a hotspot for guests to hang out during a wedding. It’s a spacious room with a large bar and tables located in between their two ballrooms.

Ceremony Options

There’s several ceremony options at The Bucyrus Club and their staff is very flexible in executing a couples’ vision. Many couples choose to have their ceremony in the beautiful, Cream City Brick 1893 Ballroom. There’s also the option of an outdoor ceremony as long as it’s under 100 guests.

Depending on your guest count, our recommendation is to have your ceremony in the 1893 Ballroom, drinks in the Bucyrus Museum, then dinner in the Grand Ballroom.

Location, Parking and Hotels

Located in South Milwaukee, The Bucyrus Club is a 15 minute drive/rideshare from downtown Milwaukee. If you or your guests do drive, one thing you’ll love is their 200 free parking spaces!

Hotels are 10 minutes away, and some even have shuttle service. Check with the Bucyrus Club’s staff for more information on hotels and hotel blocks near the venue.

We love the Bucyrus Club’s history, owners/staff and delicious food from Skyline Catering and we know Milwaukee couples will love it too! Check out their website to contact them for a tour today: bucyrusclub.com
