Originally published in 2021, and now updated every year, this list was compiled after having discussed it with several industry/community folks to make sure we included the top Black-owned wedding vendors in Milwaukee. A hidden gem venue in the heart of Milwaukee! Built in 1899, the Uplifting Mansion has been meticulously renovated to become an intimate venue with timeless architecture & natural light. This community hub hosts intimmate weddings, rehearsal dinners, wedding showers, along with community events and dinners.
A lush garden is available during warm weather months and super fun fact, there is a gorgeous two bed residence on the top floor of this mansion available for booking too! Uplifting Mansion is a part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.

Samantha Starr Events has been planning amazing events for years such as founding the 10 year running Battle of The Chefs which raises money for charity, to planning 500+ person nonprofit Galas as well as intimate & intentional dinners. Samantha Starr is behind many great events happening in Milwaukee and she offers day off coordination for fabulous weddings AND officiates them too!
7. Nō Studios

Beyond being a beautiful venue in Milwaukee’s super hot Brewery District, Nō Studios has an amazing story behind it. Opened by Oscar winner and Milwaukee native, John Ridley, Nō Studios has a mission to socialize with purpose and uplift artists and social justice initiatives. Weddings are often hosted in their rooftop space that includes panoramic views of Milwaukee.

Judge Derek Mosley has married hundreds (if not thousands) of couples in Milwaukee. His jovial and loving demeanor make his ceremonies meaningful for couples and guests alike. While Derek has officially retired from being a Municipal Court Judge and now works at Marquette University, he’ll always be Milwaukee’s Neighborhood Judge and continues to marry Milwaukee’s engaged couples.

The Sherman Phoenix, once a fire-damaged bank building, is now a gorgeous, high-quality space for small businesses-of-color offering diverse foods, wellness services and cultural activities. They are also available to host weddings, showers & rehearsals in their amazing space, based on availability, so check out their various spaces & corresponding capacities.

414loral (4-1-Floral) is a grassroots floral initiative based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mikel, the owner, says that each bouquet she creates is an outpouring of her love for floral design and Milwaukee. We love that and their work is absolutely stunning.

We’ve tried some of Confectionately Yours desserts and boy are they delicious! With their cafe located inside the African American Chamber of Commerce on MLK Drive, visit their spot for sweet treats & check out their wedding dessert options. Adija, owner of Confectionately Yours comes from a long family line of bakers & businesses and in 2018 competed in Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge.

Having outfitted celebrities like Shaq and various Milwaukee Bucks players to hundreds of grooms and groomsmen, NL Suits, located in the Third Ward, is one of Milwaukee’s top custom menswear shops. Having used them for past Married In Milwaukee photo shoots like in the top image above, their staff is super welcoming and knowledgeable about making men (and suited up women) look and feel their best.

If you have yet to try Lush Popcorn, go get yourself some! Located in at their brand new location in Riverwest, their warm & cozy space is also available for limited private events like wedding showers, brunches, and rehearsals. Also appearing at various farmers markets throughout the area, their popcorn flavors range from the sweet Cookies & Cream, to vegan options, and even the liquor infused options Maple Bourbon or Chili Lime Margarita which make perfect favors and snacks for weddings.
