Milwaukee has some pretty amazingly talented black-owned wedding vendors, and you’ll find 31 of them right here!
We started compiling this list over a year ago and have discussed it with several industry/community folks to make sure we included the top Black-owned wedding vendors in Milwaukee. Definitely check them out and consider hiring them for your wedding!

Industry veteran, Cheri, owner of Cheri Denise Events has been planning exquisite events, attending to all of the details, along with exceptional quality of service all over Milwaukee and across the country. Cheri Denise Events is also part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
2. kbattle photography
Having learned a love of photography from her dad, Katrice, owner of kbattle photography, has discovered her passion of capturing life’s moments, documenting memories for years to come. Kbattle photography is also part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
3. Nō Studios

Beyond being a beautiful venue in Milwaukee’s super hot Brewery District, Nō Studios has an amazing story behind it. Opened by Oscar winner and Milwaukee native, John Ridley, Nō Studios has a mission to socialize with purpose and uplift artists and social justice initiatives. Weddings are often hosted in their rooftop space that includes panoramic views of Milwaukee. Nō Studios is also part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
4. Amanda Evans Photography
Having been obsessed with photography since childhood, Amanda’s photography style is a mix of classic portraiture and genuine candids. Amanada Evans Photography‘s wedding work is absolutely stunning. We love it so much and excited to have them as part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.

In business since 2016, Star McMurty’s love for paper started with family and friends and quickly grew into a business creating invitations and other beautiful paper goods via Taylor Design & Stationery. 6. Story Hill FireHouse

Story Hill Firehouse is owned by long time event industry veteran Janelle Meyer-Brown, along with her husband. This beautifully restored historic firehouse is absolutely perfect for weddings and special events. Story Hill FireHouse is also part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
7. Officiant Judge Derek Mosley
Dubbed Milwaukee’s Neighborhood Judge, Judge Derek Mosley has married hundreds (if not thousands) of couples in Milwaukee. His jovial and loving demeanor make his ceremonies meaningful for couples and guests alike. Judge Mosley is unable to advertise due to his elected position, but he is an honorary member of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
414loral (4-1-Floral) is a grassroots floral initiative based out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mikel, the owner, says that each bouquet she creates is an outpouring of her love for floral design and Milwaukee. We love that and their work is absolutely stunning. 414loral is also part of the MIM Family of wedding vendors.
9. Shalisa Elizabeth Artistry
Shalisa Elizabeth believes makeup should be individually tailored to effectively compliment a client’s sense of style. Shalisa Elizabeth Artistry has done many weddings along with celebrity makeup and publications including Issa Rae, DeWanda Wise, Oprah Magazine and People Magazine.

Oh Sherman Phoenix — we love you so! If you’ve yet to visit, you need to plan on it. After the Milwaukee unrest of 2016 The Sherman Phoenix transformed the fire-damaged BMO Harris Bank building into high-quality space for small businesses-of-color offering diverse foods, wellness services and cultural activities, including Lush Popcorn and Confectionately Yours, both included on this list. They are also exploring the option of hosting weddings and showers in their amazing space, in particular after COVID has passed.

We’ve tried some of Confectionately Yours desserts and boy are they delicious! Located inside the Sherman Phoenix, Adija, owner of Confectionately Yours comes from a long family line of bakers & businesses and in 2018 competed in Food Network’s Christmas Cookie Challenge.
12. Lush Popcorn

If you have yet to try Lush Popcorn, you are missing out. Located inside the Sherman Phoenix and appearing at various farmers markets throughout the area, their popcorn flavors range from the sweet Cookies & Cream (our son’s fave), to vegan options, and even the liquor infused options Maple Bourbon or Chili Lime Margarita which make perfect favors and snacks for weddings. Founded by brother and sister team Marcia & Marc, we can’t wait to see what flavors they come up with next!
13. NL Suits
Having outfitted celebrities like Shaq and various Milwaukee Bucks players to hundreds of grooms and groomsmen, NL Suits, located in the Third Ward, is one of Milwaukee’s top custom menswear shops. Having used them for past Married In Milwaukee photo shoots like in the top image above, their staff is super welcoming and knowledgeable about making men (and suited up women) look and feel their best.
14. Eye Design Media
You can’t help but notice how much fun weddings are when looking through Eye Design Media‘s Instagram feed. With an “eye” for details, they provide high impact wedding photos, video and even do custom wedding websites.
15. Maria Campbell Photography
Maria Campbell, owner of Maria Campbell Photography, is an amazingly talented photographer who is motivated by human emotion. She loves working with laid back couples who value being real over perfection.
16. Baked Dreams Creations
We’ve had the pleasure of tasting Baked Dreams Creations desserts, since Tamesha Russell, owner of Baked Dreams Creations, was giving out free cupcakes and hugs in 2016. Not only are their creations beautiful, but they are soooo delicious.

With skylights in their ballroom space, and a fantastic outdoor patio, the 3041 North venue is a self-proclaimed inner-city transformative oasis that hosts all kinds of amazing events including weddings, rehearsals, showers, and everything in between.
18. Keisha Roper Make-Up Artist
Keisha Roper, owner of Keisha Roper MUA, is an amazingly talented Make-Up Artist. From weddings to photo shoots, her work is flawless whether high glam make-up, natural enhancement, or full fashion artistry.
19. Hyler Media
Milwaukee-native, now living in Wauwatosa, Christopher, owner of Hyler Media, has a passion for photography. Having started as a real estate photographer, he has been steadily expanding to the joy and love of weddings.

Quay Ellison, owner of Ellastic Designs, is one of the warmest and genuine people you will ever meet. She has been in business over 9 years designing for much of Milwaukee including billboards, Milwaukee Film Fest Black Lens branding, business mailings and, of course, wedding invitations.
21. N Love Photography
Being a husband and wife team ourselves running Married In Milwaukee, we have a soft spot for couples who run wedding businesses together. Meet husband and wife team Naomi and Soula, owners of N Love Photography, who love photographing weddings together.
22. Urbaine Oasis Spa
Dana McIntosh, founder of DMC Makeup, opened Urbaine Oasis Spa in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward to expand upon her offerings to include spa treatments and facials. Able to travel to onsite locations for wedding day make-up, their online reviews are consistently five stars.
23. Lisa Kaye Catering
Award-winning chef Lisa Kaye caterers all types of events throughout the Milwaukee area. While Chef Lisa does not limit her cooking style, she is most inspired by fresh herbs and peppers that bring out the unique flavors in Southwestern and Southern cuisines.
24. Steve White Films
Steve White Films has a high fashion / high impact vibe to his photography style and he definitely brings that to weddings he photographs. He also provides video services along with his wedding photography.
25. Hair By Shauna Hyler
Shauna Hyler, owner of Hair By Shauna Hyler, has been in the hair & makeup industry for 10+ years. Her work is stunning so be sure to check it out via her Instagram!
26. Sean Chris Photography
Having been exposed to Sean Chris work as part of the annual Miss Ruby Boutique fashion show, we love Sean Chris’ work! With a focus on corporate and branding, Sean Chris also does some fabulous wedding photography.
27. Signature Sweets
Kimberly Hall, owner of Signature Sweets, has appeared on the Food Network two times showcasing their amazingly creative cake and cupcake work. From high impact sculpted cakes, to classy and stylish wedding day creations, their cakes are sure to add that wow factor.
28. YHTS Photography Photobooth
A completely customizable “green screen” open air photo booth owned by a duo Ben & Janelle. Their reviews are stellar and from browsing their Instagram, they look so fun!
29. Samantha Starr Events
Samantha Starr has been planning big and amazing events like Battle of The Chefs and MKE Fest, many times with event proceeds benefiting education and arts organizations. Samantha Starr Events plans a limited number of weddings as well.
30. Jazz Band: Cigarette Break
Having literally seen Cigarette Break live 10+ times over the years, we can speak to how amazing they are! From jams that make you snuggle closer to your love, to ones that get you grooving in and out of your seat, this innovative jazz band can play music perfect for cocktail hour or the warm-up-band to your late night wedding dance party.
