A Note From The Couple
We asked the couple to tell us about their planning and budgeting process, and this is what they had to say:
Venues:
We are both graduates of Marquette University, so it was super important that the university be part of the wedding day. Being in The Church of the Gesu was very special and it is an incredibly beautiful place. As soon as we toured the Milwaukee Yacht Club, we knew it was a perfect fit. We loved the location, the Nautical décor, the outdoor space and the waterfront. The club has such a cool vibe and is beautifully decorated, so there was no need to change the space.
The outdoor bar and greenspace made for a perfect cocktail hour. Our guests were able to play lawn games and enjoy the beautiful weather before heading inside for the reception.
Photographer and Videographer:
The Photographer and Videographer were two of the most important aspects of our wedding. We spent a lot of time researching to find the right style and fit. We could not be happier with how our photos and videos turned out.Autumn from Amarie Photography was awesome. On top of her incredible photography, she was great to be around on our wedding day. She made us feel at ease and really knew how to capture our day exactly how we wanted. She was professional in every sense of the word.
Food and Dessert:
We really wanted to have the food we enjoyed on our wedding day. We knew early on that this meant we were going to have breakfast food for dinner. The Milwaukee Yacht Club provided an awesome breakfast buffet that everyone loved. Our favorite desserts are s’mores and custard. We were surprised to see how easy having these desserts at our wedding would be. Cover it with Class arranged a cool s’mores table with gourmet marshmallow options for our late-night snack.
The Yacht Club allowed us to bring in vanilla and chocolate custard from Murf’s. We bought different topping for guests to choose from. We loved being able to personalize our food to reflect us.
