Their story starts at Marquette, where this couple met and fell in love. While neither is from Milwaukee, they still knew they wanted to get married here and we love that!!
The majority of their guests were from out of town, which guided some of their decisions. We think they did a pretty awesome job and hired some amazing vendors. Read on to learn more about their beautiful Turner Hall wedding!

A Note from the Bride and Groom
We asked the bride and groom to tell us about their planning and budgeting process, and this is what they had to say:
The Wedding Planner:
Hiring Megan from Dare to Dream as our wedding planner was one of the best decisions we made. She kept us on track from both a planning and budget standpoint and made us much more relaxed as the wedding date grew closer, knowing things were in her hands. The Ceremony:
Neither one of us grew up in the Milwaukee area, but as we met at Marquette and live here currently, we knew we wanted to get married in Milwaukee. Gesu was the obvious location for the ceremony. The majority of our guests were from out of town, which impacted many of our decisions, including venue location, decision to provide for a shuttle from the hotels where we had room blocks, to our welcome bags. The Venue:
When looking at venues, we only looked in the downtown area to make it easier for our out of town guests. Turner Hall Ballroom had wonderful character, was large enough for our potential guest list of 320, and required minimal decorating other than lighting. The reception was beautiful and the ballroom gave it a “wow” factor. The Band:
Once we had decided on Turner Hall, a band rather than a DJ was of importance. We found Bluewater Kings from Chicago after listening to several local bands. Our guests continue to remark on how great the band was.The Photographers:
It was important to us to have two photographers to capture different moments happening at the same time. Several people had recommended Miranda and Adam from Reminisce Studio. After meeting them and seeing their gorgeous photos, we knew we had found our photographers. They had shot previous weddings at both Gesu and Turner Hall, which was reassuring. Our photos turned out beautifully and we are still debating which ones to print and frame.
The Gifts and Favors:
Rather than provide favors at the wedding, we did a combination of welcome bags at the hotels for our out of town guests and donations to two charities. The welcome bags contained a local Milwaukee beer, a bottle of Sprecher root beer, cheese curds from Clock Shadow Creamery, fresh baked pretzels from the Milwaukee Pretzel Company, and Milwaukee mix popcorn from Knight’s Popcorn. Most of our guests arrived Friday night, so the welcome bags allowed snacking either that night or between the ceremony and reception.
