All About The George and Madcap Lounge
The George and Madcap Lounge are located in the historic National Block building, which was built in 1882, and is in the heart of the Walker’s Point neighborhood.
The George is the main venue space and is located on the first floor of the building. The Madcap Lounge is located just downstairs from The George. Both venues can be rented together or separately, but most couples take the entire space for their wedding.

About The George
When you first walk into The George, you’re greeted by sophistication. Floor-to-ceiling windows with plush velvet drapes surround the room that’s decorated unlike any other space in Milwaukee.
Throughout the space you’ll find a vintage and contemporary art collection with several works by Wisconsin artists. There’s no need to decorate much if you have your wedding at The George!
The George can hold 160 guests seated and 200 for a cocktail reception. Included in the rental is an amazing “Celebration Suite” that you’ll just have to see to believe.
Celebration Suite at The George
Rental of The George includes the use of their amazing Celebration Suite, which we love! The suite is perfect place to get ready for your wedding, with room for 20, a well-stocked refrigerator, powder room, ample seating and magnificent dressing mirrors.
Note that the Celebration Suite may also be used pre/post-event for dress fittings, wedding showers and gift openings.
About The Madcap Lounge
The Madcap Lounge is such a cool space!! Located downstairs from The George, The Madcap Lounge is designed after a London club and they did an outstanding job. The Madcap Lounge has a capacity of 25 seated and 120 for a cocktail reception.
A custom bar, several uniquely decorated rooms and even a billiards table makes this a spot your guests will be raving about for years.
You can rent the Madcap Lounge separately from The George (think an amazingly unique rehearsal dinner), but we’d recommend securing both spaces for your wedding.
Catering and Drinks
The George and Madcap Lounge work exclusively with the fabulous folks at Saz’s Hospitality Group for catering. Expect a super unique menu that suits the space. You can embrace the established menus as crafted or work with the team to customize and make them all your own.
The bar service is customizable as well, but Saz’s had some great suggestions like champagne towers, butler passed champagne and specialty drinks (think Old Fashioned and Manhattans) that match the space.
Ceremony Options
The most popular way to do your ceremony and reception at The George and Madcap Lounge is to have your ceremony in The George, then drinks in the Madcap Lounge then move back upstairs to the George for dinner and dancing. Keep in mind that you can keep the Madcap Lounge open the entire night – something we totally recommend!
Another option is to have your ceremony in the Madcap Lounge – it will be totally unique, but very intimate, so plan accordingly.
Location, Parking and Hotels
The George and Madcap Lounge are located in the heart of Walker’s Point, so there’s lots of bars, clubs and hotels nearby. For parking you’ll want to look into a valet or have your guests park on the street. We recommend encouraging your guests use ridesharing with Uber or Lyft.
For hotels, the closest is the amazing Iron Horse Hotel, but all of the downtown hotels are are short ride away and many have shuttle service. Ask your event team for more details and also check out other wedding transportation options and nearby hotel room blocks.
