The Factory on Barclay is located in the Harbor District of Milwaukee’s Historic Walker’s Point. The venue space is tucked behind the Original Cheesehead Factory – yes, this is where the inventor of Wisconsin’s famous cheesehead manufacturers their products. The space is a historic gem that originally housed a brick factory and was built in 1909.
The Factory on Barclay is a gorgeous, historic space which has a unique layout for weddings. Featuring both indoor/outdoor spaces, room for both your ceremony and reception and an amazing bridal suite that’s more of an apartment than a suite, The Factory on Barclay will check off a lot of boxes for many Milwaukee couples.
You’ll have a lot of space too work with when you book The Factory on Barclay, with capacity for 300 sit down and 400 cocktail style.
In addition, the venue has a unique layout that can promote sociability, especially when you combine indoor and outdoor spaces. The 3,000 square foot outdoor space is accessible from every room, which makes it easy for your guest to move around and socialize.

Catering and Drinks
The Factory on Barclay has an exclusive catering list featuring several of Milwaukee’s top wedding caterers. As you plan your event, ask them for recommendations on caterers that would fit your event’s budget and style.
The Factory on Barclay runs the bar service and will bring in bartenders for your event. If you have any special requests, such as a signature cocktail or local craft beer, discuss it with your event coordinator. One idea The Factory on Barclay team shared with us is letting your guests create a Cheesehead foamy creation to take home during cocktail hour. How fun!
Ceremony Options
There’s lots of cool ceremony options at The Factory on Barclay. They have separate room where you can host your ceremony, which flows perfectly into their main space for your reception.
This ceremony option can fit 150 guests, but you can add another 50 guests on their super cool mezzanine for an overhead view of the fun. Larger ceremonies can be accommodated with a room flip.
Location, Parking and Hotels
The Factory on Barclay is located in Walker’s Point, which makes it super close to Downtown and the Third Ward’s hotels, restaurants and bars. The venue is a short Uber/Lyft ride away from most of the hotels in Downtown Milwaukee. Also check into your hotel’s shuttles and/or rent a bus to help transport your guests.
The space has about 30 parking spots on site that your guests can use. In addition, there are several surface lots available within walking distance as well as non-metered street parking.
Additional Details About The Factory on Barclay
If you decide to have your wedding at The Factory on Barclay, you should definitely utilize their outdoor space. It spans 3,000 square feet and each area of the venue opens up to the outdoor space, making for a uniquely social environment. At the time of this writing, they were adding a wraparound outdoor deck, which sounds awesome!!
Another cool area you’ll want to use is the mezzanine level, which overlooks all of the action below. This could be a fun space for a photo booth, coffee station or anything else you could think of. The space can hold 50-75 guests, so it’s sure to be a popular spot!
The last thing we think #MKECouples will love about The Factory on Barclay is the amazing bridal suite. The suite is more like an apartment, with three rooms, a kitchenette, a lounge with TV and more. It’s a perfect place for the bridal party to set up shop pre-wedding and get ready.
