All About The River Valley Historic Venue
The River Valley Historic Venue is located very close to downtown Milwaukee in the Menomonee River Valley. The historic building has been recently renovated and won the Mayor’s Design Award in 2020. Inside you can expect two floors of authentic Milwaukee charm.
The renovation kept the historical charms in tact, adding modern updates like new windows, HVAC and new plumbing throughout the building. The business was recently acquired by experienced industry veterans, Over The Moon Bartending – we love these guys and know you’ll be taken care of!
Boasting two floors, each with a seated capacity of 150 guests, The River Valley Historic Venue is set up perfectly for room flips with your cocktail party in the upper level. Rental even includes 38 parking spaces and use of the space for your rehearsal dinner!

Catering and Drinks
Catering is up to you at the River Valley Historic Venue. They have a preferred catering list, which is made up of caterers they have worked with and trust, but you are free to choose any Milwaukee wedding caterer you like. Also note that you’ll get two mobile service stations as well as a buffet table included in your rental.
Ceremony Options
The best spot to do your ceremony will be on the first floor, surrounded by all of the beautiful Cream City brick and historic charm. Ceremony chairs are included in your rental as is a very cool ceremony arch.
Once the ceremony ends, guests can move upstairs for cocktail hour while the room flip takes place, then head back downstairs for dinner and dancing. We love the ease of their room flip and so will you and your guests!
Location, Parking and Hotels
Within walking distance of the River Valley Historic Venue is Third Space Brewing and the Original Sobelman’s, but all of downtown’s restaurants and nightlife are a short Uber or Lyft ride away. Potawatomi Casino is a short walk or drive as well.
We love that 38 parking spaces are included with your rental – there’s also unmetered street parking available all along St. Paul Avenue.
Note that you can also use the River Valley parking lot to host a food truck for your main dinner and/or late night snacks. This space can also be used as an intimate outdoor area.
