We had a GREAT time partnering up with NEWaukee for their Wedding Event on April 18th, 2014. Not only was the event part of NEWaukee’s wildly successful YPWeek, but it showcased top Milwaukee wedding vendors doing what they do best.
At the wedding event, guests could observe wedding vendors doing live wedding art installations. From the “Becoming A Bride” exhibit to a live boudoir photo shoot, we had it all.

Event Video – See All The Action!
At the event we had Craig from Champagne Studios filming. Craig is an awesome wedding cinematographer as you can see in this film he made of the event:
Becoming A Bride
Every #MKEBride looks forward to their transformation on their wedding day. Their hair, makeup, accessories and dress are all part of their process of becoming a bride.
This is what our model, Erin, went through as part of our “Becoming a Bride” installation. First Roots Salon did her hair and make-up. Then she got her Miss Ruby wedding dress and Jaxie accessories on. Finally, it was off for some sexy boudoir shots from Boudoir Milwaukee!
Live Boudoir Photo Shoot
Jenn Brindley, from Boudoir Milwaukee and JBe Photography set up a live boudoir photo shoot at the event. We had two models do boudoir, with Roots Salon doing their hair and makeup prior.
Live Cake and Floral Creations
Another exciting part of the night was the live floral creations by Belle Fiori and live cake decorating by Classy Girl Cupcakes. This gave guests a chance to see the creativity that goes into each of these wedding staples first hand, and talk to the artists about their craft.
Wedding DJ Entertainment Experience
For weddings a DJ can do a little or do a lot. Our DJ for the night, Double Platinum, definitely did a lot! They set up their “180 Package” with custom trusses and music videos flanking each side of the dance floor. This created a 180 degree entertainment experience which was awesome and the guests loved it.
Artists Marry on Canvas
There were some amazing artists at this event and we got to watch many of them “marry” on canvas. Now we might be biased here, but we think this would be an awesome thing to have at your wedding! If you’d like to commission any of the artists involved in this event, just contact NEWaukee and they can get you in touch.
Milwaukee’s Newest Wedding Venue
Yep, Milwaukee has a new wedding venue and we were lucky enough to hold this event there. The venue is from the folks at the SURG Restaurant Group (Carnevor, Mi-Key’s, Umami Moto, etc.), so you can expect style and class all the way.
SURG on the Water is located in the old Ryan Braun’s Graffito space. Two reasons we love this place – it’s right on the river and it’s in the Third Ward. Add in their HUGE patio and we’re sold, so make sure to check them out for your wedding.
Show These Wedding Artists Some Love!
Without these creative wedding artists, we never could of done this event. Show them some love and contact them to help with your wedding plans.
