To DJ or Not to DJ – That is the Question

January 27, 2012 by Angela Quigley

Milwaukee Airwaves - Milwaukee DJWhen sitting down with a friend over lunch the other day, she asked the question: “Does anybody even use a DJ for weddings anymore?”

I hadn’t really even thought about it as I used a DJ for my own wedding and didn’t really consider not having one or other options.

To figure out why a couple should hire a DJ, Ramsey Renno, owner of Milwaukee Airwaves, had some great insight.

About Milwaukee Airwaves

First the background. After co-founding one of the largest DJ companies in the Milwaukee area, Ramsey recently went out on his own and started Milwaukee Airwaves.

His desire is to be edgier and have more flexibility to work with an engaged couple’s wedding budget. Milwaukee Airwaves considers themselves to be the “Master of Ceremonies” for the reception and to make everything go off without a hitch.

The Master of Ceremonies

I had never thought of a DJ being the master of ceremonies before, but it makes a lot of sense. A DJ can be in charge of all transitions during your reception from the cocktail hour and dinner announcements, from the first dance all the way to the last dance.

A good DJ will play music based on the bride and groom’s music list. A GREAT DJ will tune into the feel of the room and keep the party going by playing just that right song, that maybe the bride and groom hadn’t even thought about including on their list.

Other Benefits of a Wedding DJ

Milwaukee Airwaves aims to please their clients and provides online profiles that you can update at your leisure. Hear a song while having a drink at your favorite bar? Log on to your online profile and include it on your Play List instantaneously. Hear that song that has you running from the dance floor while at your cousin’s wedding? Add that cringe-worthy song to your Do Not Play list.

Milwaukee Airwaves has extensive experience in the industry and can be your master of ceremonies for your wedding reception and choreograph your event to go flawlessly without you worrying about what comes next. Check out their website for more info on their offerings including LED lighting.

We used Ramsey for our wedding and he was great! I highly (and often!) recommend him to my newly-engaged friends. High energy, but not goofy or cheesy like other DJ’s. Ramsey and his DJ skills help to keep the dancing last all night long!
