If you’re thinking of forgoing a wedding cake and doing cupcakes instead, then this is the list for you!
The Milwaukee-area has a variety of cupcake shops that can help you create beautiful wedding cupcakes. And, in some cases, you’ll pay less for the cupcakes than you would a wedding cake.
Milwaukee Cupcake Company

This place has a HUGE selection of cupcake flavors ranging from classics like Vanilla Bean to the very exotic – Hibiscus Lavender Absinthe. One of the best things about this cupcake place is their devotion to Milwaukee.
Not only is their slogan “Making Milwaukee a little sweeter!” their cupcakes are named after Milwaukee neighborhoods. The Shorewood (Vanilla Salted Caramel) is my fav!
Classy Girl Cupcakes
Classy Girl Cupcakes opened their retail location in November 2009 after years of providing cupcakes for various types of events, including weddings. Their website has a collection of wedding cupcake photos, and judging from the pictures, they excel at gorgeous presentations of their delicious cupcakes.
To really add an extra special touch to your wedding, your cupcakes can be prepared in colored or designed cupcake liners. If you’re having a leopard print themed wedding, these would definitely add that extra special touch. Classy Girl also has cheesecake cupcakes that are super yummy. I’m quite partial to any of the peanut butter / chocolate combos.

Miss Julia’s Bake Shop

Nestled away just off Bluemound Road behind Kopp’s Frozen Custard in Brookfield is Miss Julia’s Bake Shop. They are the self-proclaimed first cup-cakery and gourmet bakery in the Milwaukee area and their cupcakes are absolutely delicious!
My mouth waters just thinking about their moist red velvet cupcake topped with rich and creamy cream cheese frosting. While Miss Julia’s cupcakes tend to focus on more traditional types of flavor combinations, their cupcakes are super moist, and always yummy.

While most places that make wedding cakes will generally make cupcakes, the above Milwaukee cup-cakeries are dedicated to the art of making delicious gourmet little cakes that conveniently fit in the palm of your hand.
And if you just can’t get enough of cupcakes, check out Milwaukee’s own cupcake blogger, Sandy Ploy, for her take on life and her love of everything cupcakes. This is the place to go to find out about Iron Cupcake Milwaukee events.
