A Note From The Couple
We asked the couple to tell us about their planning and budgeting process, and this is what they had to say:
The Venue:
Neither of us are fantastic at event planning, so when envisioning our wedding day, we knew that we wanted a venue that resembled our relationship but did not require a bunch of decorating. We also wanted to prioritize our guests having a great time. When we toured the The Ivy House we immediately knew that our wedding had to be there. Not only is the inside boasting with beautiful greenery and wood finishes, the patio where we had our ceremony required minimal decoration – which was an immediate selling point for me who is not very artistic and struggles with decoration/putting a theme together.
Additionally, the Ivy House allows for the unique opportunity to hold your reception outdoors where guests can dance the night away under the stars. This was definitely unique to our wedding and have yet to go to another event where dancing was held outdoors. The venue was absolutely stunning and the staff ensured our day ran smoothly.
The Caterer:
We also knew that we wanted our guests to have an unforgettable time. We prioritized hiring a caterer known for their delicious food, Chef Jack’s, and decided to splurge a bit on our bar package through the Ivy House. Chef Jack’s not only served a delicious meal for our guest, they also went above and beyond throughout our day. They helped with set up, take down, late night snack coordination and managed every other small detail throughout the day. It is evident that they have perfected executing on a flawless service. The Photographer:
Caroline Cavalcante Photography was the perfect photographer who captured our relationship flawlessly and brought nothing but positive energy and excitement to our day. She structured our entire day and kept us to a tight timeline to ensure she was able to capture all the photos we had requested. We loved her creativity throughout the day and willingness to experiment with different types of photos and locations. Our pictures are so beautiful and Caroline is the absolute best to work with. The DJ:
Jordan with the Milwaukee Airwaves was nothing shy of impressive. We have a wide breadth of musical taste and Jordan was able to transition the music from genera to genera, ensuring that all our guests had at least one song they could resonate to. We asked him to avoid playing traditional wedding reception songs and as a result our wedding felt more like a party than anything. Months after our wedding, we still get compliments on how great our DJ was.Overall:
People still continue to tell us how much fun they had at our wedding and that the Ivy House is a beautiful and unique space. This would not have been possible without the help of our amazing vendors who all were responsive, organized and put our needs first. We knew we wanted to prioritize people having a good time and decided to DIY most of our decorations and signage to save on some costs. As a result, we had a wedding that was modern and showcased our favorite things as well as an event that people definitely remembered. We are so thankful all the vendors we worked with and the cost was worth having all your favorite people in one place having an amazing time celebrating your love.
