Update May 2021 – We are super excited that the Milwaukee Bucks have taken over this space! The new venue is now called Gather at Deer District, so check them out!
Update January 2021 – We are sad to hear that Good City is no longer doing weddings in this event space, but make sure to check out their East Side taproom, Good City Hall, for an awesome wedding with delicious beer!
We are continuously blown away with the amazing new wedding venues opening up in Milwaukee and Good City Brewing Commons has us beyond excited! Located in the epicenter of Milwaukee’s hot Deer District at The Fiserv Forum, it has floor-to-ceiling windows, a second floor balcony opening up to the bustling commons area below, along with “good” beer and amazing food.
Joining the ranks of other brewery event venues in Milwaukee, Good City Brewing opened Good City Commons after opening their East Side location — Good City Hall in 2017. While their venues, food and beer are all amazing, we also really love this local company and their commitment to the Milwaukee community.
Before we jump into the details below, check out this seriously amazing video of Good City Commons by our friends at Films By Design:
All About Good City Commons
Good City Commons is located directly across from the Bucks Arena / Fiserv Forum in what is called the Deer District. Located near ample nightlife, hotels and dining, this area of Milwaukee is bustling with the energy of our City. Just outside the doors to Good City Commons you’ll find events like the Christkindlmarket, live music festivities, Oktoberfest and event Bucks playoff viewing parties (crossing fingers!).
Using newer construction, this modern venue has large brewery seating in the main level with the private event space on the second level. Attentive and flexible staff, food from renowned chef Guy Davies, and some of the best local beer in Milwaukee makes us love the Good City Commons space and all it has to offer.
The capacity at Good City Commons is 300 for sit down dinner and and 400 for cocktail reception. Having your ceremony is definitely an option with an ability to fit 300 people, but the folks at Good City Brewing mentioned 150 works well for a ceremony in the atrium overlooking the Fiserv Forum.

Catering and Drinks
Catering is provided onsite at Good City Brewing and boy are you in for a treat. The renowned chef, Guy Davies, curates the wedding and event menus and sources locally when at all possible. From fine dining options to upscale bar food (definitely try their curry fries), you’ll have plenty of tasty options. You’ll get to attend a delicious tasting before choosing your menu too.
As for the drinks, Good City Brewing has some of our favorite beers in town. They serve Good City beer, wine, champagne and ciders, but due to some Wisconsin legalities, no hard alcohol is allowed, even if brought in by an outside provider. Bartenders are provided by Good City Brewing and they have ample bar packages for you to choose from.
As mentioned previously, a ceremony of 300 people can fit; however, if you want to overlook the Fiserv Forum, like in the photos below, 150 people is what fits best.
Keep in mind that the Fiserv Forum and the Deer District have become an central spot for exciting events and seasonal activities, and these events could correspond to your wedding date. While we think that’s pretty cool and just another way to showcase the awesomeness of Milwaukee to your guests, some couples may prefer a more traditional, predictable and quiet space. Definitely check with the Good City team to see what events may be happening around your wedding dates.
Parking, Hotels and Shuttles
Being in the Deer District, blocks from the Brewery District, and located in Downtown Milwaukee, Good City Commons has ample hotels nearby in downtown Milwaukee, as well as some within walking distance. Be sure to ask them for recommendations and check out our list of places offering hotel room blocks in Milwaukee.
For parking nearby, there is street parking and a large structure with 1,200 spots available for your guests. Pricing fluctuates with ongoing events, so be sure to check. Many area hotels offer shuttle assistance so be sure to ask, otherwise, check out additional Milwaukee transportation options.
Additional Details About Good City Brewing
Definitely use the outdoor 2nd floor balcony patio to maximize your fun. From playing bags to expanding the floor plan for your guests, everyone will love overlooking the hustle and bustle of the Deer District. Good City Brewing also has fun can koozies and can even make a customized beer for your wedding — along with custom bottles — perfect wedding favors.
Beyond just good beer, we love the story, mission and people behind Good City Brewing. Founded by Dan Katt, Andy Jones, and David Dupee, Good City Brewing lives true to their name by urging people to Seek The Good. For example, each month, Good City Brewing organizes a service project for their team and invites the public to participate in — called Seek The Good Saturdays. Sounds like a fun Bachelor(ette) party idea if you ask me!
