Like many in 2020, the pandemic affected this couples’ wedding plans. Due to this, they held an intimate ceremony (costs listed separately below) at Filament on their original wedding date. A few months later they threw a reception at Filament that included an open bar, great food, and dancing all night.

A Note From The Couple
We asked the couple to tell us about their planning and budgeting process, and this is what they had to say:
Planning a wedding is crazy! And then add on a pandemic (being an ICU nurse and my now husband is a sheriff deputy we were in the thick of it) and OMG its crazier!
Our wedding was always set to be on December 5th, 2020 so when this started we didn’t even think we would not to get have our dream day. Well that quickly changed as everything unfolded but that being said December 5th was always our wedding date. We were able to have a very intimate ceremony on our actual date and were able to have our wedding party, parents and closet family members and friends there.
Our December date had 32 people there. Not at all what was ordinally planned but I wouldn’t change it for the world because it became such an intimate and special day that I will be forever grateful for! Our reception also was everything I had ever wanted!
When we first started planning we wanted a party or dancing and drinking all night and I feel as though that’s what we got! An open bar, great food, and dancing was always on the top of my list when it came to planning our wedding!
The Venue:
We looked at 9 places and when we walked into the Filament it was everything we were thinking about! Cream city brick, warm lights and the industrial feel yet romantic. Also we wanted something that we wouldn’t have to put lots of decorations up for and the Filament is perfect for that! The wood columns and open concept is perfect!A big factor in our mind was always photographer and videographer. We always said that these would be our memories forever so we were willing to put more of our funds towards that.
On our original wedding date we had a photographer that we will forever regret involving in our lives although she did show up and take pictures the quality was very poor and this isn’t the first time she has done this to a couple. So when it came to redoing our pictures and having our reception pictures we were not going to let this happen to us again.
The Photographer:
With the help of my amazing coordinator Brittany Bartz I was connected to Ally with Ally Corinne Photography, now this is a relationship I could not be more happy to have had! Ally was amazing, talented, brought all my visions to life! Also since we had already paid for a photographer that was not working with us anymore she was very understanding and worked with us a budget! I can not say enough amazing things about Ally! The Videographer:
We also choose to have a videographer because I feel as though they capture the true day and seeing as how a lot of our family and friends were not going to be at our intimate wedding ceremony we thought this would be a great idea! Travis from Daytime Studios did an amazing job capturing both of our days! The Planner:
Another expense we took on that some people thought we were crazy was our coordinator Brittany! SHE IS AMAZING! With everything going on with wedding planning I don’t think I could have done any of it without her! Especially when it came to replanning and rescheduling all of our vendors from December to April! The Catering:
Lastly, FOOD! We both love tacos so much and it was a no brainer! We have been to so many weddings where they served chicken or steak and its just okay so we just wanted food that was amazing and what we would love! We had steak tacos, chicken bacon chorizo, and spicy steak tacos! We had all the toppings and salsa as well as rice and Mexican corn! We served cheese quesadillas and beans with bacon and chorizo! It was amazing!Overall it was very different how we thought it would be but all of our vendors were amazing and made sure that both of our days were great!
