Here at Married In Milwaukee we encourage all future brides and grooms to support local vendors for their weddings. Now here’s a great way to do it – stop by the Buy Local Gift Fair on Sunday December 8, 2013, where you’ll find 40 local vendors (including many wedding vendors) selling their goods all in the awesome space of Lakefront Brewery.
Below are 7 of the vendors we recommend you check out for your wedding. Stop in and chat with these businesses about their wedding offerings and maybe get some holiday shopping done in the process. Oh yeah, did we mention there’s free Lakefront Brewery tours too? Check out the Buy Local Gift Fair website for more info.
1. Tall Guy and a Grill Catering

We love Tall Guy and a Grill catering. Their food is delicious and owners Dan and Amanda (shown above) are super friendly and flexible. Plus they are members of the Married In Milwaukee Family. We highly recommend you visit them at the Buy Local Gift Fair, order some of their yummy food and talk to them about their wedding catering options.
Also check out their previous article on Married In Milwaukee here. Since the publishing of this article, they have opened their space near 72nd Street and North Avenue in the up-and-coming East Tosa neighborhood. Definitely check out their Saturday and Sunday morning carry out brunch options too.
2. Indulgence Chocolatiers

Married In Milwaukee is a huge fan of Indulgence Chocolatiers. Their chocolate is unique and delicious and can work perfect as a dessert and/or wedding favors for your big day.
Before you visit them on December 8, feel free to check out this previous article featuring Indulgence Chocolatiers. Since the launch of this article, they have opened both a Shorewood and Walker’s Point location. They have been busy!
Stay tuned for an upcoming feature on their chocolate and wine pairing events available in their beautiful Walker’s Point space. If you haven’t been, definitely plan a visit.
3. Stems Cut Flowers

Stems Cut Flowers is an extremely local company you can use for your wedding. Their flowers are planted, grown, prepared, and designed right here in Metro Milwaukee.
Much like the “farm to table” movement in the culinary world, Stems provides “field to bouquet” eco-friendly wedding arrangements. Check out this article featuring Stems Cut Flowers and visit them at the Buy Local Gift Fair.
4. Becky’s Blissful Bakery

Becky’s Blissful Bakery will be at the Buy Local Gift Fair selling their buttery, melt in your mouth caramels. Using other locally sourced products such as Lakefront Brewery, Stone Creek Coffee and Rishi tea for their delicious caramels, they are a perfect example of how purchasing from one local businesses often extends beyond that initial purchase and supports other locally owned businesses as well.
Check out this Becky’s Blissful Bakery‘s article for more info on using them for your wedding favors.
5. Milwaukee Home

Being a huge fan of the Milwaukee Home brand, we were excited to see that they will be at the Buy Local Gift fair on December 8th as well.
While they don’t sell “traditional” wedding stuff, I’m sure any Milwaukee-loving bridesmaids or groomsmen would be beyond stoked to receive one of their sweet branded items as a gift. You also might want to consider one of their mugs, glasses or even Christmas ornaments as an awesome wedding favor that shows off your MKE pride.
We’d love to see some future pictures of couples who have creatively incorporated Milwaukee Home into their wedding. (Hint, hint)
6. Treat Bake Shop

I had never tried a Treat spiced pecan until a little over a month ago at a #MKEfoodies event, and I’m officially hooked. These little pieces of heaven have such a unique spiced flavor and make great wedding favors. Be sure to try them out.
7. From Milwaukee With Love

From Milwaukee With Love is a new company launched to distribute locally produced Milwaukee artisan products across the country. They package gift boxes full of items such as Indulgence Chocolatiers chocolate, spiced pecans from Treat Bake Shop and salami from Bolzano meats.
Their gift boxes filled with Milwaukee products would be perfect for your wedding guests staying in hotel rooms. It’s a great way to showcase your Milwaukee love to your guests and support local businesses in the process.
Supporting Local Milwaukee Vendors
Weddings are an amazing way to support Milwaukee-owned businesses. Supporting local is part of our mission here at Married In Milwaukee, and we are excited to announce we recently joined the movement too and are official members of the amazing group, Local First Milwaukee.
Check out the Buy Local Gift Fair website for a full vendor listing of who will be there on Sunday December 8, 2013 at Lakefront Brewery. Hours are from 12:00pm – 4:00pm with free brewery tours at 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30. (You know we had to mention the free brewery tour times). 🙂
See you there!
