You’ve probably been to dozens of wedding receptions, but it’s hard to know what is supposed to happen when at your own Milwaukee wedding. Relax, this wedding reception timeline maps it out for you so you don’t have to. We use a timeline that starts at zero so you can insert your own times for planning purposes.
Party Picture Booth – Wedding Photo Booth
Just went to a wedding that had a “Party Picture Booth”, where guest could go in and take pictures of themselves for the bride and groom. After the pictures come out, there was a scrap book where the guest could glue their pictures and write a note to the bride and groom.
Budget Wedding Centerpieces
We did double duty for the wedding rehearsal and reception decorations. We purchased rose bunches from Pick’n Save and vases from TJ Maxx for decorations at the rehearsal dinner. Then we used the same vases for the wedding bouquets at the reception. We then removed the rose petals the next day to use as part of the centerpieces on each table.
Weddings at the The Astor Hotel
We had our wedding reception at the Astor Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The Astor has a ballroom that’s filled with old world charm and we loved it. We didn’t do a sit down dinner, but instead did a cocktail recpetion where the food was served in stations and our guests could eat whenever they wanted. This made the reception more social and gave us more time to sociallize with our guests.
