Looking to move beyond the average night on the town for your bachelor / bachelorette party? MarriedInMilwaukee.com is here to give you inspiration to throw an awesome party. And that party can start at Splash Studio, a “painting bar” located in Downtown Milwaukee’s Third Ward.
Splash Studio has also offered at $25 certificate towards your own work of art or drinks to help you complete that masterpiece. Check below for how to enter.
What to Expect at Splash Studio
The new trend of DIY painting studios – where you create your own painting along with an instructor guiding you through the process – is catching on here in Milwaukee. However, no one does it quite like Splash Studio.
From the minute you walk into the space and are greeted by the exposed ductwork, eclectic colorful artwork on the walls, and easels lined along the the crisp lines of finished wood tables, you immediately want to grab a a paintbrush and “get to work.”
Unlike a lot of group painting classes in Milwaukee that have you copy a work of art by a “famous” artist, Splash Studio sessions are led by local Milwaukee artists that guide you through a painting they created. From abstract to landscape; still life to anime; Milwaukee inspired to country living; the options are endless. Want to unleash your inner creative, feel free to veer from the instructed path and go with what moves you.
Another fun fact – Splash Studio also boasts of having the cheapest beers in the Third Ward – which leads to the next important point – you can drink while you paint. Yes please!

Private Party Options
There are so many customized options available for private parties at Splash Studio. Food can be brought in or owners Marla and David have suggestions on catering options. Once you meet the minimum number of guests, there is no space rental. Want a customized cocktail offered for your guests, Splash Studio can hook you up!
Think the awesomeness stops there? For an additional fee, you can have a painting made inspired by something important to you. Get engaged in Cathedral Square or your favorite car is a ’69 Chevelle – have your party guests paint it.
The ladies below planned a bachelorette party and added some personal touches by making aprons with the bride-to-be’s picture on them as well as created a wedding dress inspired apron for the bride-to-be. What a great idea! Photos by Kate Kinser.
Stop in for a drink, conversation and some observation – nothing says you have to paint on your first visit. Mini canvas paintings can be made on the spot at the bar; there are even bookshelves of art inspiration to get you started on your own mini masterpiece. This is a great way to check out the space and see if Splash Studio is a good fit for your bachelorette, bachelor, or bridal shower parties. Trust me, it’s not just for the girls either – check out these photos below!

This is such a cute idea! I’m throwing a bachelorette party for my sister, who has always loved painting. This could be a really unique way to do something fun that also speaks to her personality. Thanks for sharing!
