When deciding on a wedding photographer, it can be important to determine what you want. There are different types of photography – some like the posed or staged shots – say the bride and groom standing in front of the church looking directly into the camera – while others prefer editorial or photojournalistic style photography. Editorial photos are generally taken from the background; they are taken to tell a story, to capture moments of raw emotion. While this doesn’t mean you can’t have your picture taken in front of your favorite view of the Milwaukee downtown skyline, you ultimately want to hire a photographer based on their skills that will give you the end result you are looking for in your wedding photos.
To get some insight, we sat down with Kim from KB Image Photography who has a passion for photojournalistic style photography. But Kim didn’t just talk about her skills, she provided us photos from an awesome Milwaukee winter wedding AND connected us with the bride so we could hear directly from one of her couples. One final detail I just have to share about this wedding is Jeannette’s dress. Isn’t it gorgeous! This dress was actually sewn by Jeannette’s grandmother for Jeannette’s mother for her wedding.
