George Watts – Milwaukee’s Unique Wedding Gift Registry

George Watts Wedding Gift RegistryYour wedding registry tends to be an afterthought in the rush of planning your wedding. That’s why many of us tend to grab a scanner at a big box retail store and get the same old gifts that everyone else has. It’s quick, easy and can be a lot of fun. However, if you’re the type that seeks out personalized service with unique and high-quality gifts, then consider George Watts & Son in downtown Milwaukee.

George Watts & Son has been a fixture in Milwaukee since 1870 and offers unique tabletop, kitchen and home decor gifts that you won’t find anywhere else in town, as well as the large name brands like Waterford and Wedgwood. According to Sam Watts, the fifth-generation CEO, they have reinvented their inventory and offer modern, fashionable items that today’s brides and grooms demand. Some of my favorite pieces are the Peggy Karr plates featuring Milwaukee scenes. So cool!

Personalized Service – Unique Brands

Beyond their unique products, George Watts differentiates themselves through service. Stop in for a consultation and you’ll be treated like a celebrity, enjoying champagne, tea or Alterra coffee while you discuss your style and needs. Arrive between 11am -2pm and enjoy free valet parking.

Your consultant will then walk you through their lovely shop on Jefferson Street, showing you their unique mix of brands and helping uncover the products you’ll love the most. Once you’ve made your choices, George Watts offers an online gift registry where your wedding guests can easily browse and purchase the items you chose.

Unique Tablewear from George Watts & Son

To prep for this article, I had lunch with Sam Watts in the Watts Tea Shop on the second floor of their store. Sam’s passion for his business, along with his passion for Milwaukee showed through in our lively conversation. It’s great to have a local, family-owned business with a leader who cares about the community and strives to bring something unique to town. And trust me, your guests will love browsing their store and might even take home a few things for themselves.

A One-Stop Wedding Shop

Through my conversation with Sam, I learned of George Watts & Son’s passion for catering to brides and grooms. Not only do they offer awesome products for your wedding gift registry, they recently added Zita Bridal Salon to the first floor of their building. Now you can shop for your wedding dress and gift registry in the same spot.

In addition, check out the Watts Tea Shop for your bridal shower and/or rehearsal dinner. It’s a perfect spot, with delicious food and great views of one of downtown Milwaukee’s most active neighborhoods.

If you’re looking for wedding gifts that will last a lifetime, versus a few years, want to shop local and give your guests a unique option, then George Watts & Son is for you. Stop in and browse through their shop and we’re sure you’ll find something you like. Don’t forget to tell them that you read about them on MarriedInMilwaukee.com!
