We did double duty for the wedding rehearsal and reception decorations. We purchased rose bunches from Pick'n Save and vases from TJ Maxx for decorations at the rehearsal dinner. Then we used the same vases for the wedding bouquets at the reception. We then removed the rose petals the next day to use as part of the centerpieces on each table.
Additionally, our reception location (The Astor Hotel) had a choice of two centerpieces to use... bud vases or a small crystal votive holder with candles. We used the votive holder and spread rose petals around them. They looked great and really didn't cost anything. I don't know if most hotels offer options for centerpieces, but it doesn't hurt to ask. It saved us a ton!
